13 Gift ideas for foodies & local Christmas markets

Christmas shopping guide for design enthusiasts - part 2 Christmas presents for the kitchen

read part 1 here: Christmas decor

In this second part of my Christmas shopping guide I have compiled a list of presents that will make your foodie friends and family very happy.

Offline Gift shopping in Christmas pop-ups

If you love shopping for presents offline, I want to recommend four of my favorite treasure hunting grounds (Christmas markets) in Budapest, where you can find a ton of different unique products and support local artists and craftsmanship with your shopping. From soaps & candles, to fashion, to jewellery, to games & books, to stationary, you sure will find anything you need (and anything that you didn’t know you needed).

  • Makers of Budapest - This contemporary craft fair is held monthly representing a wide range of Hungarian design. Catch it on the 18th of December.

  • Ajandekterminal - this year situated in Etele shopping mall, offering a wide selection of all kind of presents as well as workshops, this pop-up store is open every day until the 24th of December

  • WAMP Christmas edition - in the Bálna building with a great view over the Danube, the Hungarian design market is focused on local artists and their trades, on Sundays before Christmas

  • Projekt showroom - This pop-up store is held at Andrássy út 46 again this year, bearing all the gifts your heart could wish for

Read about other exciting wintertime activities in this welovebudapest article, including even more Christmas markets and cultural programme guides.
